Founders, Dirty Bastard

Very cloudy reddish-brownish-red/brown.

I'd try to describe the smell, but I have a sinus infection.

Mouthfeel is medium body approaching a full creamy texture.

Taste is kinda unique.  Imagine a well-rounded light stout + sweetness + a bit of alcohol (scotch, says the bottle).  The sweetness reminds me of maple or maybe molasses.  The alcohol is there, but doesn't get in the way too much.

I think it's ok.  I should try it again sometime when i don't have a cold.  I think i'd like it more without the alcohol.

Founders, Red's Rye PA

 Nice brown/red color.  Most lacing I've ever seen.  Right when you open the bottle you get punched in the nose with an amazing pineapple, nectarine and rye aroma.

I'll admit that I had a hard time starting on this one.  It's heavy hop characteristic and 70 IBUs were way more than I'm used to.  This beer is definitely tuned for the hop-lovers (not me).

I warmed up to it a little bit about halfway through the glass.  I slowed down and sipped.  Just can't get over that bitter hop-earwax aftertaste.

The IPA yuppies probably love this one.  It's just not for me.  Not terrible... just not for me.

Founders, Breakfast Stout

Coffee, chocolate, malt, slight alcohol warmth, crisp and mild bitterness at the end.  Black as night... seriously, i held it up to my ceiling fan light and you can't see anything through it.  Thick mouthfeel.  I guess that's what some people call "full-bodied".  No real head worth mentioning.  What was there when I poured it quickly vanished.  Perfect carbonation: just enough to be enjoyable.

I enjoyed it (really) all the way to the end, but I don't think I'd want more than one at a time.  My only other experience with a stout has been Guinness Extra Stout.  This Founders Breakfast Stout was by far more enjoyable.  I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this one.

More thoughts:  Gave me the mega munchies.  According to beeradvocate.com this is a seasonal brew.  I may need to buy some to keep around.
